The Nanino efect has hit the Wetlands hard, but that is not the only negative impact that the visitors has to endure.
Rhino Card increased from R550.00/year for 8 people to R1300.00/year for 6 people. Not only where they hit with this price increase, but also is the entrance vouchers now only valid for once use.
Previously one could enter all the parks gates on the same daily voucher more than once per day. That privilege has also been revoked.
Although The iSimangaliso Wetlands Park has announced park upgrades in the access of R7 000 000.00 day visitors have to be happy with pre World Heritage Site Status facilities.
All in all the World Heritage Site Status is a very expensive luxuary that brought nothing to the value of the Park except hard surface developments in very sensitive areas.
