The impact of Flood Plain Farms

The Flood Plains are farmed commercially with sugar can since 1938.

That is when damage to the fragile Eco System, Greater St Lucia Wetlands Park, has started.

This entry shows the impact on draining The iMfolozi to the ocean after every good rain.

We can't wish The Flood Plain Farmers Harm. We have just to except the fact that this practice needs to stop. Compensate the Farmers so they can relocate their operations and carry on with their lively hood.

The Hydraulic Back pressure from filling the iMfolozi Flood Plains keeps more farms and consumers in fresh water than it is economical viable in building a dam.
