Gripen and Hawk jet fighters to participate in the annual Exercise Young Eagle Open Day, 18 Feb

The Exercise Young Eagle Open Day will be held on Friday, 18 February 2011 in Bloemfontein. Exercise Young Eagle, the annual SA Army exercise aimed at training and exercising the SA Army’s Airborne and Air Assault forces to enhance airborne capability and combat readiness, is being conducted at the De Brug training area in Bloemfontein and will feature Gripen and Hawk jet fighters including 18 helicopters.

The Open Day will consist of briefings, static displays/exhibitions, pathfinder infiltration, airborne and air assault demonstration, free fall demonstration and will be concluded with a media conference hosted by the Chief of the SA Army, Lieutenant General Solly Shoke.
