Directions to Get There : How do I get to Sodwana Bay from Johannesburg? From Johannesburg, you take the N4 to Witbank. Take the Bethal turn-off and follow the road to Ermelo. Look out for the sign to Piet Retief. Go straight through Piet Retief and Pongola to Hluhluwe. We suggest you do not take the Jozini turn off to Sodwana, as this is still a 57 km (bad) dirt road. The turn off to Hluhluwe and Sodwana is clearly marked. Drive through the town of Hluhluwe (pronounced Shlushluwe) and follow the signs to Sodwana Bay. This road is now tarred all the way and signifies the end of an era to Sodwana. (In the very recent past, this road used to be dirt all the way and part of the fun.) You will then get to a T-Junction. Turn right and follow it through till you get to Sodwana Bay
