a Dry thorny veld with that is the Western shores of the lake system (36 000 ha) in the rainy season up to 84 km long and some places 21 km wide.
This includes Charters Creeck, Fanies Island and False Bay
The Eastern Shores
Maphelane in the South, St. Lucia Estuary the gate way, Cape Vidal and in between Mission Rocks. This area is also known as the Wetlands of iSimangaliso Wetlands Park.
